Most agents who are vying for your business will tell you that you need representation, someone to look out for your best interests. They will probably tell you that it costs you nothing or very little since the seller pays our commission.

To a certain extent this is true. The listing agent represents the seller. Some agents will claim to be a dual agent and represent both you and the seller. But in reality, most of the time the listing agent is truly working for the seller and the buyer is unrepresented.
